Hextor brand accent
One accent for UI chrome — buttons, links, focus rings, selection — stepped for light and dark.

Deliberately ONE accent. A neutral scale alone reads as unstyled rather than restrained, but the 2026 house style takes hierarchy from spacing and type weight and spends colour once — more accents is how a product starts looking like a component gallery.
Chosen against measurement: white on --brand is 6.14:1 in light mode, and the dark step is 5.28:1 against a dark surface with 4.52:1 for text on the button. Stepped rather than reused, because a value that only works in one mode is half an accent. Violet is also unmistakable against the reserved verdict palette, so a call to action can never be misread as a status.
SCOPE: chrome only. Never a mark inside a chart. Against the frozen axis palette it sits ΔE 5.7 from axis-correctness blue under deuteranopia — fine for a button beside a chart, wrong for a sixth series inside one. Charts draw from --axis-* and nothing else.
Swapping it is four values in cssVars.light plus one in dark. If you change it, re-check white-on-brand at 4.5:1 before shipping — a CTA that fails contrast fails for everyone, not just the people you were thinking of.
